It's Chrissy's birthday? Yeah, of course. Be there in a few.]
[It takes a minute or so longer than it otherwise would have because Cloud takes a minute or so to consider whether he ought to bring something for Chrissy himself, too. He's...really not much of a gift-giver, usually, so he's not sure any idea he came up with would be any good, but he does end up thinking of something after all.
Heather can tell when Cloud's closeby from the loud growl of the engine as he races at an entirely unnecessary speed toward the deli. Then there's the squeal of tires as he drifts his way to a practiced stop just outside at the curb. He's not wearing a helmet.
He comes inside and glances around, idly wondering if this bodega has a cat the way such places sometimes do back in Midgar.]
( while heather didn't know the other woman too well, there was something almost sad in the way she described her birthday and how it had always been something more for her mother than herself. she couldn't throw her a party [not that she wanted one], but the least she could do was arrange to deliver her a nice hot meal [and prepare it for her].
so by the time cloud arrived, heather was behind the meat counter, pulling a sandwich out of one of the toaster ovens before placing it on a sheet of paper, wrapping it up and swinging it into a bag. alongside that was a bag of chips and a soda.
unfortunately for cloud, no bodega cat just yet but there was a soft squeaking sound coming from the upstairs portion of the building indicating they had a bodega rat. )
Hey you must be Cloud right?
( she said, turning as soon as she heard a few footsteps. she held the bag out and placed it on the counter for him to grab. )
Thanks for doing this, I appreciate it. Tell me what kind of sandwich you want and I'll have it ready for you when you return? Unless you want to save it for a rainy day?
( although she looked on the younger side, she was taking her job here making sandwiches very seriously. wearing gloves, asking about allergies, and overall looking professional.
with a soft smile she shrugged her shoulders and waved her hand. )
It doesn't matter, she'll know its from me I am....I am the only one working here besides Maria and I don't think they know each other. Just drive safe okay? I'll have your food ready for you when you return.
