[As if on cue, Lucky comes running out of the bedroom and towards the two men, tongue hanging out and looking super cheerful]

This is Lucky, one of the dalmatians I used to take care of and a really good boy.

[He scoops him up and holds him close to his face, letting lucky lick at his nose and cheek and even lips. Puppy kisses are lovely.]

Isn't that right? You're the goodest boy!

[Cloud blinks at the puppy that trots up to Squall. Watching it lick his mouth, Cloud makes a face.]

Cute dog. Hope you weren't expecting me to kiss you today, though.

[The look of betrayal at Cloud's comment almost is comedic on Squall's face as he quickly puts Lucky down but is still petting him.]

You're not going to kiss me now???

Nope.

[Is he joking or serious? The world may never know.]

So...that's the surprise? You got a dog? Or, got your dog back, I guess.

[Well that's not the reaction at all that squall was hoping for. He frowns a little and holds Lucky closer, unsure if Cloud wants to even hold the cutest dog ever. To him its obvious anyone would want to play with Lucky, well except Cloud it seems.]

I am..no there is more. You don't want to play with him first?

[Cloud shrugs.]

Not really. Me and animals don't really mix.

[Which might sound like a weird thing to say, given he's engaged to the puppiest puppy to ever exist in a human body, but Cloud doesn't take that kind of thing literally, unlike Angeal.]

Don't mind if he hangs around, though.

[It's a better answer but Squall still is a little disappointed and puts Lucky down who walks over to Cloud and starts sniffing his legs. He goes on his back legs, putting his tiny weight on Cloud and trying to get the man to pick him up.]

Looks like he likes you at least

[Squall says as he goes into the bedroom and grabs out a wrapped black box.]

This is your actual present. You can open it. I know you might not remember it but it was your favorite thing to wear back in my world..er...[A pause] I'm not trying to make you look the same! I just thought you might have the same taste in fashion so you might enjoy wearing this here too, honest.
