Just so you know if you are ever too hot I can cool you down. I'm really good with ice magic. I mean I know all kinds of magic but that one comes naturally to me.

[He turns on his side, keeping his DTF and keyboard close to him as he starts to smile in his texts to cloud. This is nice.]

I kind of did a little bit of everything. Head of the restoration committee, carpenter, cook, maid, protector. Watching over you was my second job. I still think I deserve some payment for that.

[He turns in the bed he's in, still happy to text but getting a little tired]

She wanted to but would send me instead. She's healed you more times then I can count.

Oh come on. I don't have a rival, so whoever it is, it's probably someone I don't even know.

Man, your Aerith must be different from mine. Mine wouldn't stay behind even if her life depended on it. Maybe especially then.

[Wow okay, there's so much awkward here that Cloud's not sure where to begin. Though if Sephiroth was just his rival and not his mortal enemy in Leon's world, that's...encouraging, right?

And trying to set people up does sound like a thing Aerith would do...but if she was setting him up with Leon, that means she wasn't setting him up with herself. Did that Aerith not want him? Not to mention the awkwardness of having this conversation in the first place.

Real fights or sparring? What do you mean by 'rival'?

I guess Rival is the wrong word. You go after him like a man possessed with the sole purpose of getting rid of him even if you come back with broken body parts at times. Though to be fair he leaves just as beaten as you each time. He just never shows it that well.

[He's getting a little annoyed talking about Sephiroth though]

Don't tell me you are still fighting him here too.

No. Not here. Back home, he did some horrible things. But I found out the situation wasn't what it seemed. He's a totally different person here.

[He texts it before he realizes what he asked, knowing Cloud never liked to talk about those things so she quickly sent a follow up message]

I mean, you don't have to tell me everything but I mean, how is he different? Are you two friends now?

[Cloud hasn't even started a response before the next message comes, having been just staring at the question in the meantime, so he breathes a quiet sigh of relief when Squall follows it up.]

Yeah. He was under an alien's influence back then, but it's gone now.

[It's the most boiled-down explanation of Jenova possible, but he's really not up for explaining all that shit. Especially not right before he plans to try to go back to sleep.]

[Technically Sora was an alien, technically HE had been an alien at Traverse Town so he really wasnt' too stunned by that but he wondered if it was similar in Cloud's world.]

So he was mind controlled is what you're telling me?

It crash landed on our planet a long time ago and laid dormant until some asshole scientists dug it up and started using it for experiments. Wouldn't say mind controlled, exactly, but close enough.

I know you hate details but you got to give me more than this. You got my interest piqued. I know Sephiroth as some kind of monster, honestly for awhile I thought he might even be a heartless. I'm still on the fence with that but here you are telling me he is like that because of some evil scientists and an alien. I wonder if it's the same for the one I know.
