So "Bahamut" is literal. Good to know. I'm familiar with both, but they don't have human forms where I'm from. That I know of, anyway. They're beings we can call on with materia to ask for their help, particularly in battle, but nobody knows where they go when they're not doing that.
They sound almost like crystal, insofar as enabling the use of magic, though I hope that is their only likeness.
